South Africa's spontaneous cellist, "HA!Man" and word artist Joke Debaere (Belgium) crisscross the globe, finding creative inspiration in the people and places they encounter. ‘A home I cannot name’ – the title of one of Joke's poems – is a metaphor for the indescribably deep way their sounds and words enter the hearts and minds of their audiences. Cello, keyboard, voice, electronic accompaniments and visual projections flow through an astonishing array of textures and feelings. Set pieces blend with improvisations to provide an intense home-coming experience that is indeed hard to give a name to.
What a rare gift they hold individually. The combination of his voice/music and her spontaneous spoken word poetry makes for a uniquely rare delight in performance - Ronda Miller, Kansas
